We made moji.pet to give your app or AI agent a dangerously cute animated pet.
You describe a character. You get a named pet with 9 looping animations, one for each mood of your app. Then you drop it into your app, or hand it to your coding agent and let it do the setup.
We've been designing and building software for 30 years. This time we built and branded a product in one day, with Lovable and AI agents doing a lot of the work. Here's what we made.
Every AI app needs a face
Most AI apps use a static logo or a spinning dot. Products like Meta's Muse showed that a character reacting to what the app is doing feels friendlier.
A good app pet listens while you type. It thinks while the app works. It talks while the reply comes in.
Making one usually means a designer, an animator and a lot of time. Most people building with AI don't have that. So we made a tool that does it.
What moji.pet does
It's four steps.
Describe it. Type an idea, or tap one of 8,000+ random ideas like "sleepy axolotl in a raincoat".
Meet it. In about 20 seconds you get a soft 3D character with its own name, based on your idea.
Animate it. 9 looping clips appear in a 3x3 grid: idle, listening, thinking, speaking, working, success, oops, sleeping and celebrating.
Unlock it. Enter your email to get the full set, downloads and your own private pet page.
It's free to try, 3 mojis a day. You can use your pet in your own apps, sites and projects, including commercial ones.
10 AI signals that matter for your business. Every week. No hype.
Every pet gets a name. You see it in the app, in your X post, in the share title and in your profile pic file name.
A private pet page. Your full set and downloads, in one place.
Built for sharing. Post on X. Grab a mood board GIF of all 9 states. Download a profile pic. Export a GIF of any single clip.
Postcards for friends. Send a friend a card from your pet. It fills in a twist on your idea so they can make their own.
Friend rewards. When 3 friends make a moji from your postcard, your pet gets a 10th bonus clip, Waving.
The Wall. A public gallery of pets. Yours carries an "I'm yours 💕" badge only you can see.
Mobile first. A bubbly layout made for your phone.
Fair use. 3 free mojis a day, plus a content check that keeps things family friendly.
Made for agents too
AI agents are starting to use websites. They're also building apps. We designed moji.pet for both.
Agents can make a pet for you. We publish an llms.txt guide and a simple JSON API that agents can use. Pets made by agents get a small 🤖 badge on the Wall.
We're also experimenting with exposing moji.pet to AI agents through WebMCP, an early proposed browser standard.
We kept it fair. Agents only get 3 preview clips. The full set needs your email, shared with your permission. Agents follow the same daily limit and content rules as everyone else. It's all in the llms.txt guide.
Why bother? We think "agent-friendly" will matter the way "mobile-friendly" did. We wanted to be early, and be a clear example.
One paste to your coding agent
This is the part we care about most.
Once you unlock your pet, you get a box of ready-to-paste instructions for Lovable, Cursor, Claude or any coding agent.
You paste it, and the agent does the rest. It downloads the clips and the character picture. Then it builds an avatar that plays the right clip when your app is idle, thinking, speaking and so on.
The people who need an app avatar are building with AI. Instead of "download 10 files and figure it out", we give them one paste.
How we built it with Lovable
The whole app is built in Lovable. It's React with Tailwind, server functions and Supabase. GIF export runs in the browser. AI calls go through the Lovable AI Gateway, with images from OpenAI and looping clips from Gemini Omni Flash.
We could describe a screen, look at it, fix what felt off, and keep going. That let us spend our time on the flow and the details.
How Designy made the brand
We didn't design the brand by hand this time. Designy, our design assistant agent, did.
The logo is a coral, puffy, lowercase "m" with googly eyes. It looks like a little creature, which fits a product about pets.
Type: Fredoka and Nunito.
Color: cream, coral and plum, with soft pastels.
Our job was to direct and edit. Push on what feels generic. Keep what feels right.
What we'd tell another designer
These tools don't replace your taste. They remove the waiting between having an idea and seeing it on screen.
The decisions are still yours. What the product is for. What goes in the flow. What to cut. Agents move fast, but they move in whatever direction you point them.
Try it
Make a pet at moji.pet, or ask your agent to make one for you. If you're building an AI app, paste the box into your coding agent and see how your app feels with a face on it.
