Gianni D'Alerta and Ralph Quintero are now listed as AI Innovation Fellows at FIU’s Center for Leadership. Both names are on the Center’s Fellows and Affiliates page, alongside faculty fellows, facilitators, and affiliated faculty. The title is specific: AI Innovation Fellow.
That listing follows work already in motion. The Center’s AI Innovation Programs are built around leaders learning by doing, not sitting through another slide deck. In June, FIU hosted an AI Build Lab on the MMC campus powered by the Center and Purple Horizons. People showed up to build, not to hear a lecture, and left with prototypes.
Purple Horizons is the Miami lab Gianni and Ralph founded for that same kind of day. Company teams spend a morning on prompts and tools, then a buildathon after lunch. Schools have been in the mix too. Palmer Trinity checked in 51 people, students, faculty, and staff, and left with working tools. Junior Achievement of Greater Miami brought about 15. FIU, Columbus, and Gulliver have sat in those rooms as well.
The fellow title does not turn this into a degree or a class catalog. It names the two people FIU is already building with, and it puts a Miami AI lab on a university leadership roster that companies in this city already know.
The official listing is here: Fellows and Affiliates, FIU Center for Leadership.
